The Story

I’m Jake Lambourne, the founder of Arbex Gear. After dropping out of college at age 17, I began training as a tree surgeon at Plumpton Agricultural College in East Sussex. Once I started working in the industry, it quickly became clear that most of the gear out there just wasn’t cutting it.

Everything was either overpriced, poor quality, or just plain boring—recycled designs from the same big brands that had lost touch with what working arborists and foresters actually need on the job.

That’s why I started Arbex.

Arbex Gear is built from the ground up by someone in the sector. Every piece of gear we design has a real purpose behind it. It’s made to handle the graft, take a beating, and still feel good to wear at the end of a long day.

Arbex isn’t just rebranded workwear. It’s designed personally by me, shaped by real problems and feedback from people like you—so we genuinely value what you have to say.

And when you buy from Arbex, you're not dealing with a faceless company—you’re working directly with me. I’m involved in everything, from design to packing orders. You’re not just a customer; you’re part of the Arbex Descent. That’s our name for the community—because a 'descent' is the collective noun for woodpeckers.

Thanks for supporting Arbex. Its only just beginning.
